Nancy Drew Mystery Stories are filled with mystery, suspense, and adventure. I like to see if I can figure the mystery out before Nancy and her friends. Nancy Drew is a curious girl who can't stay away from a good mystery. She loves adventure, she's a bit of a dare devil, and doesn't beleive in the super natural. Carson Drew is a famous lawyer and Nancy's Father. Like any Dad he gets very worried when one of Nancy's mysteries gets dangerous (but then, all of them get dangerous!). Sometimes he will be the one to give Nancy a mystery. Hannah Gruen is the Drews house keeper, and has been with them since Mrs. Drew died. She has become like a mother to Nancy. Bess Marvin and George Fayne are cousins and Nancy's best friends. Bess is cautious and not much for adventure, and George can't get enough. Lets not forget the football players Ned Nickerson(Nancy's boyfriend), Burt Eddleton, and Dave Evans(George's and Bess's boyfriends).

I like Nancy Drew Mystery Stories and I've been reading them since I was a kid but now I'm 14 and I still like figuring out the mystery, but now I can by the time I'm half way through the book. A mystery isn't much fun if it isn't a mystery anymore. It's a mystery for a younger reader. The book it self is a great story that includes the characters, but there are other books in the series to start with. The picturers in this one arn't as good as the ones in the other books.

It's 1943 and with their Father fighting the Germans in Europe, and Mother working at an munitions factory, almost 12 year old George and his big brother Jack have most of the day to themselves. Their plan was to spend their summer doing Jack's paper route and inner-tubeing at the local lake until one night when they're running late and take a short cut to make it home in time, but stumble on camp X instead. They're told not to come back again, but when Jack's curiosity gets the better of him he drags George along to go back to the camp, and they both get involved with the mystery of camp X and the fight aginst the Germans. Jack is the courageous one, and isn't afraid of most anything (except mom). He loves adventure and a challenge. George not so much, he takes things more cautiously, and is happy to just sit back and mind his own business.

I would recomend this book, and think that Eric Walters is a great writer. It's filled with action, adventure, mystery, and suspense. I couldn'd put it down. The plot was easy to follow, but full of surprises. I liked it all the way through, and thought about how I would act in the position of the characters.

This Series is about 5 owls (a.k.a the band), and the journey to save not only them selfs, but the hole owl kingdom. This is the type of series that you don't have to read in order, but I would recommend it.

The War Of The Ember is the 14th and last book in the Series, so I can't tell you much about this book with out telling the ending of the other book, but I will see what I can do. In this book Nyra and the Striga join together the rule the owl kingdom. The Guardians must stop them, but there is rumor that they have the book of Kreeth and plane to bring back hagsfiends from hagsmire itself! To stop this from happening the guardians team up with all the other animals, gadfeathers, Kraals, polar bears, green-owls, puffins, seagulls, dire wolves, and crows! This is the war to end the war!

This is a great book/Series for kids and teens (and grown up that are a kid a heart), but characters do die and there are battles. Still, my mother loves Twilight's battle chants. The series is full of excitement and adventure. I recommend this book/Series.

This book is Ponyboy' s story. A story is about a smart "wimp" who is part of the greaser gang. When he and his friend Johnny get jumped by the Socs a rivial gang he kills Bob in self-defense. This causes ponyboy to start thinking diffrently about his life and the pressures at home start getting to him. Can Ponyboy handle seeing people die on top of the trouble at home. I can't tell you any more with out giving away this fast paced book.

I should warn you that Bob is not the only person the died in this book, and it is not for the weak of heart. Still it is a great book with a great meaning. It brings you in side the story of a gang, and how a few friends can be closer then family. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and had trouble putting it down!

This book is awsome for kids of all ages to read as long as their at least in grade 8. S.E. Hintion did a much better job than one of his other books: That was then, This is now. The action was so good both me and Word Smith had trubble putting it down despite the fact that this was a book that we had to read with ther rest of the class. I would recemend reading this book even if it isn't for school work if you already havent read it.

This series is sbout a teenag girl named katelen Brook who is a actress. She was on a tv show called Family Affairs. She tells her story firs hand as the events happen to her. The searies isn't finished an there is more books in this series to come. It is full of action and adventure. Katlen even tells us a few hollwood secreats. there is usally one secret per chapter.



This book series is really good. I would get one of the books and read it in two days! That isn't saying much for me but the books are big at least 250 pages. i enjoyed all the storys that she has out so far and they are amazing plotlines. For example a evil actress bent on distroying katlen's acting carrrer. This book is shure to keep the tween reader intrested.

That was Then, This is Now
Auther: S.E. Hintin

This book was written by the same author who wrote The Outsiders. It is about a boy named Bryon who is a pool huslure and runs with the wrong crowd. It has some of the old characters from The Outsiders such as the shepperd gang and Ponyboy, Curtis. Although they aren't talked about alot though. Bryon faces a problem when he finds himself growing up and changing while his closest friend Mark wants to stay the same. It deals not so much with gangs this time but has to do with more Bryon's personal life.

I personally think that the book was good in the beginning. But as I read the book I found the the book got worse not better. There was no real plotline (not much was happening), until the end and that got resolved within the next 40 pages. Yes the book did give a really good discription of Bryon and his feelings, but there wasn't enough action to keep me interested for more than 10 pages. It took me 5 days to read this book and it wa only 158 pages. So if you know me that really says somthing because i usually read at least 50 pages an hour if the book is good. Personally i think he did a better job with the Outsiders. and should have used a little more action.

This book is about Gibson White son of Benjamin Franklin and Rosalind the world's Champion trotting mare with a time of 1:56¾ .Gibson always wanted to trot, and the first chance he get he becomes sick and is sent to the hospital. That is when he starts to read One Men's Horse a story inside Born to Trot. One Man's Horse is about a horse named Hambletonian (Rosalind is his direct descendant), and how every one mocked him. That is why Rysdyk asked to pay for him. Rysdyk was a hired man with low wage, so he spent all his savings on the horse (I would go on but then I start to give the book away).

This is a great book for someone who just started reading. It has nice big spaced out print, with lots of photos. I liked it a lot, and it's a true story! I did have a little problem getting in to the book, so it's not my favorite. But I recommend this book to the horse lover who just started reading.

This is a non fiction book about Crested Geckos and other giant Geckos. It has many scientific word in it, but is a short read that covers all the basics. This is the owners guide that I use for my female Crested Gecko, Gem. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get, or already has a giant Gecko. Although because it focuses on the Crested Gecko, I would only recommend it as an owners guide for the Crested Gecko, and someone who can read the big words (I'm one to talk arn't I ;-))

This is a non fiction book about horses. It covers a lot of the details on "becoming the horse", "the physical horse", "the horse's senses", "the nature of the horse", "horse timeline", "good behavior,"bad" behavior", "communication", "routines", and "training". I recommend this book to anyone who likes horses, but not someone who likes a short read. It can go on, and on some times, but it is well written. For someone who likes how like horses and a short read, I say get an other book, but if you like horses, and are o.k. with a long read, it's a good book.

This book is about teenage Nadja Halibegovich's life in a war zone, how she and her town survived in a place where bombs went off and where there were snipers at every corner. On April 6, 1992 Sarajevo fell into war, and Nadja couldn't escape until August 28, 1995. In here you learn how a bunch of kids trapped in an apartment building, found hope and spread it as far as they could.

I liked this book, but it is very sad at some points, I remember writing "...I'd love to get to the end, but I can't read any more...One thing I know is that if I tired to use my tape recorder. I would probably cry. It's not that I couldn't deal with the loose of good food (I'll eat anything), or the loose of electricity, but the suffering it self that hurts me, and that I can't seem to do anything about it. In this book it is more then a write up of the war, but a write up on how to never give up no matter what! It talks about how war changes everything. I recommend this book to everybody.

It's about a 12 year old girl named Catherine. Her brother David has autism, and when ever he needs help there parents will "jump" to it. Leaving Catherine out of the picture. She tries to teach her brother to be "normal" by teaching him rules from "keep your pants on in public" to "no toys in the fish tank". Then when her neighbor moves away and a girl Catherine's age moves in, Catherine finds it most important for David to be "normal", if she is ever going to have the friend next door that she always dreamed of. But when she meets Jason in the clinic, she asks herself what is normal? Jason is in a wheelchair and can't talk.

I did not like this book, it is too much like my own life for me to like it, but other kids with different lives mite like it.This book is not about accepting those who are different, as it is about accepting those that are the same. On page 194 Catherine says "...I see how kids stare at David and it hurt me, because I know what they're thinking. Or even worse, they don't look at him, just around him, like he's invisible. It makes me mad..." and Catherine is right it is worse when you're invisible. I don't recommend this book.

This book is Don Acker's very first novel that he wrote for young adults. The main character is named Ben Corbrett. His stepfather is a heavy drinker and is a big problem for Ben and his mother. He keeps his problems at home a secret because he is in fear of losing everything (like his girlfriend). He even declines a chance of a lifetime. When his english teacher Mr. Lewis tell him he has been chosen to go to the Summer Institute for Young Writers he declines. After this happened, Mr. Lewis gets very concerned and so does his girlfriend Ann. This story tells the tale of Ben's life.

A really good book. a bunch of action. put together extremely well. It made me wish I could travel into the book and help Ben. I would read over 40 pages at a time. I finished it in one weekend (2 days)! I got really into the book as I could picture most things in my head.

The book The First Stone, was a white pine nominee for the year 2004. This story is about a boy who's name is Chad Kennedy who goes by the name of Reef. Angry and upset, one day, Reef throws a stone into oncoming traffic below. A girl who's birth name is Elizabeth Morrison, is severely injured in the crash that was caused by the stone that Reef threw. Now Reef is sent to a boys home and has to do volunteer work at a hospital. Elizabeth prefers to go by the name of Leeza Hemming, so when the two 17 year old kids meet, they both don't know who the other really is. This book also follows Leeza's experience's as she goes through months of therapy at a Rehab clinic. The story line takes place in Halifax.

This book is a really good one to read if you like action and excitement. Don Acker has written the book quite well and in great detail. I could see everything in my head like a movie. I had loved this book so much I finished it in 3-4 days. It even had some parts that touched my heart. This book is like watching a movie where hitting a pause button is out of the question!

A story based on the famous book 1947: Big Brother is Watching YOU. It is the winner of the White Pine award of 2008-2009. This book is about a group of teenagers who are illegally arrested during a terrorist attack on the Golden Gate bridge. As you can tell, it takes place in San Francisco. It tells the story of a boy who fights against the highly paranoid government using the Xnet and going under an assumed name: W1ns10n. Written for teenagers and young adults. It is written well.

A great book. A Page turner for everyone who reads it. I finished the book within 3-4 days and was very happy. I loved most of it although i found some parts dull. The action is very captioning. Although the technical talk at the beginning is hard for some people, i got by it.

Amazing Gracie

Amazing Grace - A dogs tale
Authours: Dan Doyal & Mark Beckoff

This true story is about a man who lost a dog and is very sad. His co-worker and very close friend is concerned and takes him to get another dog. He then finds Gracie, a dog who is an albino and is deaf. This then launches a series of funny and interesting events where he writes about how Gracie changed his and his friends lives forever. He lives whith another close friend who co- wrote the book with him.

A very inspirational story about a man and his dog. Full of laughs it kept me laughing and was very entertaining. An amazing page turner - it is sure to keep any animal lover reading.

Ok for those of you who want to check us out this is how i hope it is going to turn out. each post will be a book. we will edit posts as soon as one of us has finally read the book. the reviewers i hope will each have a little bio post where they tell you a little about their personality and what type of books and movies they like. Why do i want us to have bios of each other? That way the readers (thats you) can compare themselves to the reviewer and get an even better idea if that is or isn't the book for them. The name of the book will be put in big bold letters on the top as well as the author in slightly smaller letters underneath the title. In the labels, the name of the book will be there as well. we may change things around to try to make it as organized and esay for you to find the book you want to check out. as you can see there is a little space where you can click on that post and see just that book and review. also the name of the book will also be under the title for example REVIEWS FOR... we might even give a synopsis of the book too. but don't worry we will never give away the ending.
